Turning seizure alerts into a wearable. A two-week EU design sprint with Open Minds reimagining concert safety for people with epilepsy.
I participated in a two-week EU-funded Open Minds programme in Umeå, Sweden, collaborating with five other universities to explore accessible design and its importance. During the first week, based at my home university, we conducted research and ideation sessions using brainstorming card decks to find a scneario to focus on. After presenting the idea to university, we traveled to Umeå, where we worked in groups of six to design an application in Figma and prototype a wearable physical display that connected to the app.
To create a solution that empowers individuals with epilepsy to confidently attend concerts by reducing the unpredictability of potential seizure triggers. Designing an application that integrates with live concert setups, providing real-time alerts and information to users about potential triggers.
